Bumble said on March 12 it will roll out an AI dating assistant called Bee and a broader Bumble 2.0 redesign aimed at moving users beyond swipe-first matching, a shift the company unveiled alongside its Q4 earnings update.
Bee will initially power a new AI-driven experience called Dates that starts with private, in-depth chats to learn users’ values and goals and then recommend matches, according to TechCrunch and Bloomberg.
The Bumble 2.0 revamp adds chapter-based, scrollable profiles and AI-enhanced swipes to give users more context than photo-first cards, Mashable and Reuters reported.
The AI overhaul comes as dating apps confront swipe fatigue and softer engagement; Bumble said in its earnings release that it is accelerating product innovation and member-experience improvements, and Reuters noted the stock rallied after the results and revamp plans.
